About

About The Strange Unknown

I’ve always been drawn to strange stories and horror. As a kid, I grew up reading Stephen King and R.L. Stine, watching any horror movie I could get my hands on, and listening closely whenever someone started telling a story that felt a little off. Why did those stories stick with me? Because they felt real, even when they didn’t make sense.

That curiosity never went away.

My family has always shared their own stories. Ghost sightings. UFO encounters. Unexplained events. Spooky moments that never quite had answers. Some were terrifying. Some were subtle. All of them felt important, like pieces of something bigger that never fully reveals itself.

Those stories helped shape who I am today. I now write and make horror films myself, always drawn to atmosphere, unease, and the idea that something unseen is just out of frame. The Strange Unknown is a natural extension of that lifelong fascination.

What This Site Is About

The Strange Unknown is a growing archive of unexplained phenomena from around the world. The focus is on real locations, real reports, and real people who experienced something they couldn’t explain.

Here you’ll find:

  • Cryptid sightings and regional monster legends
  • Paranormal encounters and ghost reports
  • UFO and UAP sightings tied to specific places
  • Haunted and cursed objects with documented histories
  • Newspaper clippings, historical references, and source material

Some cases are famous. Others are obscure. What matters is the story itself and how it continues to affect people.

Haunted Objects and Dark Histories

I’ve always been fascinated by objects and the stories attached to them. Haunted items. Cursed artifacts. Paintings, tools, and everyday things that seem to carry something with them.

Why does an object feel different once you know its history? Why do some items seem to change the people who own them?

I collect these strange and dark objects myself, always drawn to items with unsettling backstories. That interest plays a big role here. Objects aren’t just props. They’re witnesses.

The Approach

Not everything here is meant to be proven. Some reports may be hoaxes. Others may have logical explanations. And some remain deeply unsettling no matter how much you dig.

The goal isn’t to tell you what to believe.

It’s to document the stories as honestly as possible, respect the people who experienced them, and explore how folklore, belief, place, and fear intersect. I’ll show you what’s known, what’s reported, and what’s still unanswered. You decide what it means.

Why The Strange Unknown Exists

Too many strange stories fade away. They get buried in old newspapers, dismissed, or retold until the original details are lost.

This site exists to preserve them.

The Strange Unknown is meant to be a living archive. A place to explore, research, and lose yourself in the weird corners of history and human experience. Whether you’re here out of curiosity, research, or a love of unsettling stories, you’re in the right place.

And if you’ve experienced something unexplained yourself, you already understand why this matters.

Welcome to The Strange Unknown.
